TYPICAL USE IN THE INDUSTRY OF THE DIFFERENT COMPOUND WHEELS IS AS FOLLOWS:
- Nylon wheels: These are the cheapest, but some of the toughest wheels in the range and can take quite a pounding. Typical use would be in the food industry as it does gather the minimum amount of debris, and easy to hose down after a day’s work, without damaging the actual wheel. Nylon wheels is also popular for use in cold environments like walk in fridges and blow freezers as they can operate in temperatures up to 20 degrees Celsius below freezing. Suitable to use in wet conditions. Available in various sizes.
- Nylon Polyurethane wheels: Similar to the nylon wheels, these are also preferred wheels for the foods industry and cold conditions like walk in fridges etc. Suitable to operate in wet conditions. Available in various sizes.
- Rubber wheels: The most common and popular wheels, and is pretty much an all-rounder as explained above. Rubber wheels can be used in most environments and conditions except wet conditions, as the rubber absorbs the water and will thus shorten the lifetime of the wheel.
- Cast iron polyurethane wheels: Cast iron center wheel with ball bearing with a polyurethane bonding. The polyurethane is chemically bonded to the cast iron center to insure robustness. These wheels are widely used in the engineering, manufacturing industries. Typical uses for moving heavy duty applications such as gantry’s, machine moving and various other heavy equipment. Available in various sizes.
